As we celebrate #ApprenticeshipWeek, it’s a great moment to reflect on the journey of our first three apprentices with the Life on the Edge project. 🌿As they near the end of their time with us, Nicky Bailey shares how much they have grown during the programme – from developing valuable conservation skills to playing a key role in supporting the project’s work and helping drive its success.Their dedication, enthusiasm and fresh perspectives have made a real difference, and it has been fantastic to see the opportunities they’ve embraced along the way. We’re incredibly proud of everything they’ve achieved and can’t wait to see where their next steps take them. The future of conservation is brighter with people like this leading the way. 💚#Apprenticeships #NatureRecovery #ConservationCareers🌊🌿 Life on the Edge: helping nature – and people – thrive 🌿🌊Along the South Devon coast, wildlife is clinging on in a narrow strip of land between the sea and farmland. Life on the Edge (LotE) is a £4.5 million project by South Devon National Landscape in partnership working to protect these special places—bringing back wildflowers, supporting vulnerable species, and creating a coastline that’s richer, healthier and more beautiful for everyone to enjoy. But this project isn’t just about nature. It’s also about people 💚 Life on the Edge helps people reconnect with the natural world, improve wellbeing, and feel empowered to make a difference for wildlife where they live.As part of National Apprenticeship Week, we’re sharing a new article that looks at the project’s paid apprenticeship and trainee opportunities—designed to give people from all backgrounds the chance to learn, gain experience, and build a future in conservation.🌱 Meet three of the project’s first apprentices as they come towards the end of their placements this March, and hear what it’s really like to learn and work on a major nature recovery project.👉 Read the full story here: c-js.uk/4qlZCLB #NationalApprenticeshipWeek #NAW2026 #LifeOnTheEdge #SouthDevon #NatureRecovery #Wildlife #Apprenticeships ...
