SUMMARY:Life on the Edge Walks Series (14) – Farming for Nature (Coleton Camp)
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row css_animation=”” row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”full_width” angled_section=”no” text_align=”left” background_image_as_pattern=”without_pattern”][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””] \nJoin us for the latest in our series of walks aimed at helping you discover more about the South Devon National Landscape.\nOn this circular walk from Coleton Camp will enjoy some incredible coastal views and a great vantage point over Scabbacombe Sands. The walk will pass by arable habitats with wildflower rich margins\, then into maritime grassland of Scabbacombe SSSI managed by a unique form of conservation grazing for its endangered Field Eryngo\, then through the maritime cliff and slope scrub mosaics of Coleton Barton before returning by the species-rich grassland creation to Coleton Camp. Learn about the methods the stewards of our countryside use to nurture South Devon’s coastal habitats for biodiversity and food production. This is a moderate walk – relatively easy is some places\, but it does include two steep(ish) rises. There is plenty of parking at Coleton Camp carpark (fee applicable)\, but there is no toilet en route. \nBring a bottle of water\, a snack\, good footwear and weather-appropriate clothing. Dogs on leads are welcome. \nWe are running a minibus for people who don’t have their own transport\, with a pick-ups at Follaton Arboretum\, Totnes (by wooden sign) at 09:35\, or Paignton Asda (adjacent to the main entrance) at 10:00. \nImportant booking information \n\nFree event\nPre-booking essential via TicketSource\, click on ticket image below. Note that there is a separate option to book transport.\n\n\n \nWe are unable to carry dogs in these leased vehicle\, sorry. \nLife on the Edge is a Heritage Lottery funded project of South Devon National Landscape – www.southdevon-nl.org.uk \n  \n  \n \nThanks to National Lottery players \n     \n  \n  \n\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
