SUMMARY:Seaquest Sunday at Wembury Point
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row css_animation=”” row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”full_width” angled_section=”no” text_align=”left” background_image_as_pattern=”without_pattern”][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””] \nJoin Devon Wildlife Trust on a monthly sea watch\n  \nJoin Devon Wildlife Trust on the first Sunday of each month\, to learn about Devon’s marine megafauna and how to develop the skills required to effectively ‘sea watch’! \n  \nWe will be joined by enthusiastic local volunteers and sea watch expert\, Paul Burley\, who will show us how to search for cetaceans and sea birds from the land\, as well as learning about their behaviour and fascinating lives at sea. \n  \nWe will collect data as part of Seaquest Southwest\, a citizen science project run by Devon and Cornwall Wildlife Trusts. \n  \nImportant booking information \n\n\n\nFree event (donations to Devon Wildlife Trust welcome)\nBooking required – see Wembury Marine Centre website\nThis event is highly weather dependent\, so please check your emails the day before in case of cancellation\n\n\n\n\nKnow before you go\n\nSuitability\n\nThis event is usually aimed at adults with an interest in marine megafauna\, citizen science and involves standing and watching the sea with binoculars for a period of time\, probably without seeing much\, so it may not be suitable for younger children\n\n\nDogs\n\nWell behaved dogs on short leads are welcome\n\n\nWhat to bring\n\nPlease wear weather appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear with a good grip\nA pair of binoculars or a telescope if you have them\nA snack\, drink and camping chair\n\n\nAccessibility\n\nThis event requires walking for approximately 10 minutes on a wheelchair/pushchair accessible path before heading up onto the hillside to reach our look out point.\nThe hillside can be uneven and muddy/slippery after wet weather.\n\n\nWheelchair access\n\nYes – there is the option of staying on the smooth\, 3m wide concrete path.
