Come and join the crew!\n  \nThis Life on the Edge meadow management session with Brixham Womens’ Conservation Group is the fourth in a series of conservation events taking place on the last Thursday of each month\, January – May. \n  \nOn this session we will be plug planting – planting some carefully chosen wildflowers to increase floristic diversity. Additionally if the weather is suitable we may survey for bees instead! DESCRIPTION:[vc_row css_animation=”” row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”full_width” angled_section=”no” text_align=”left” background_image_as_pattern=”without_pattern”][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””] \nJoin Devon Wildlife Trust staff and volunteers for a guided rockpool safari by torchlight!\n  \nWembury Bay has long been recognised for its amazing rocky shore environment. In fact\, Wembury is often found on the list of the top rockpooling spots in the UK. \n  \nDWT’s expert team will take you on a guided rockpool safari by torchlight to meet some of Wembury’s most famous inhabitants\, and to see what they get up to after dark. \n  \nImportant booking information \n\n\n\nBooking required – see Wembury Marine Centre website\nCancellation policy\n\nRefunds will be issued up to 1 day before the event starts\, minus the Eventbrite booking fee.\nIf the event is cancelled by DWT due to poor weather\, you will receive a full refund\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKnow before you go\n\nSuitability\n\nChildren must be aged 8+ years to take part and all children must be accompanied by a paying adult\n\n\nCheck-in / check-out\n\nAll participants must check in on arrival and check out when the event is finished and an emergency contact will also be required\n\n\n Dogs\n\nNo dogs permitted\nAlthough assistance dogs are allowed all year round. However\, the rocky terrain may not be safe for them\n\n\nWhat to bring\n\nIt is essential that each participant brings their own torch/head torch\nWear bright/high-vis clothing. High vis jackets provided for those who require one\nMobile phone\nWear wellies/sturdy shoes that can get wet- rocks can be sharp so wearing thick-soled footwear with good grips is essential\nWear weather appropriate clothing and be prepared for unpredictable weather\nLeave rockpool nets at home as we follow the Seashore Code and use our hands and buckets instead (tubs provided)\nBring snacks and drinks as necessary\n\n\nAccessibility\n\nThe event takes place on Wembury beach and the surrounding rocky foreshore\nInvolves walking a good distance\, 200m+\, over very slippery seaweed covered rocks\, steep paths\, sand\, other uneven ground\nThere are steep unguarded edges along the coast\nInstruction is provided verbally by a group leader in English within an outdoor setting where there may be background noise (wind or rain). Printed copies of some information can be made available with advance notice. The event takes place in a popular public place but is not usually crowded once we start rockpooling. Flash photography may be used by staff and participants but is not usually noticeable in daylight. Noise cancelling ear muffs can only be used if the attendee has someone with them who is able to listen and interpret the instructions for them.\nThere is accessible parking at the centre but no wheelchair access to the beach.
