DESCRIPTION:[vc_row css_animation=”” row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”full_width” angled_section=”no” text_align=”left” background_image_as_pattern=”without_pattern”][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””] \nJoin Devon Wildlife Trust staff and volunteers for an extreme rockpool safari!\n  \nJoin Devon Wildlife Trust on an extremely low tide to explore Wembury’s most amazing rockpools\, rarely uncovered by the tide! \n  \nImportant booking information \n\n\n\nBooking required – see Wembury Marine Centre website\nCancellation policy\n\nRefunds will be issued up to 1 day before the event starts\, minus the Eventbrite booking fee.\nIf the event is cancelled by DWT due to poor weather\, you will receive a full refund\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKnow before you go\n\nSuitability\n\nFamilies\, children 7+ (and all children must be accompanied by a paying adult)\, adults\, experts\, beginners\nWe welcome attendees with an interest in finding out more about local marine life and are keen to learn or improve their identification and rockpooling skills.\n\n\nDogs\n\nNo – dogs are not allowed on the beach 1st May to 20th September\nAlthough assistance dogs are allowed year round\, the nature of the rocky terrain may make it unsafe for dogs\n\n\nWhat to bring\n\nPlease don’t bring nets – we’ll follow the Seashore Code and use our hands and tubs (tubs provided)\nWear wellies/sturdy shoes that can get wet- rocks can be sharp so wearing thick-soled footwear with good grips is essential\nWear weather appropriate clothing and be prepared for unpredictable weather\nWe will be out for up to 2 hours; therefore\, conditions can change and be different out on the shore than inland\nBring snacks and drinks as necessary\n\n\nAccessibility\n\nThe event takes place on Wembury beach and the surrounding rocky foreshore\nInvolves walking a good distance\, 200m+\, over very slippery seaweed covered rocks\, steep paths\, sand\, other uneven ground and in deeper rockpools\nInstruction is provided verbally by a group leader in English within an outdoor setting where there may be background noise. Printed copies of some information can be made available with advance notice. The event takes place in a popular public place but is not usually crowded once we start rockpooling. Flash photography may be used by staff and participants but is not usually noticeable in daylight. Your guide will bring appropriate trays to collect more robust foreshore life for you to see close-up\, explore its story with you before returning it safely to its home rockpool. \n  \nImportant booking information \n\n\n\nFree event\nPre-booking essential via TicketSource\, click on ticket image below.\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\nKnow before you go\n\nDogs\n\nNo dogs – unfortunately\, rockpooling is not considered a dog friendly activity.\n\n\nMobility & wheelchair access\n\nShort walk (250m max) over the mostly firm-sandy beach – we will need to cross through a very shallow stream and sandpools.\nWalkway down onto the beach is short and tarmacked but quite steep.
